Iowa City Mutual Aid is a community support group. The mutual aid relief provided is the type of neighbor-to-neighbor solidarity that needs to flourish if we are going to build sustainable lives that don't rely on a corrupt government and its entrenched bureaucracy.

The Iowa City Tenants Union (ICTU) is a tenant-led organization fighting for the rights of renters in Iowa City and Johnson County.



Iowa Harm Reduction Coalition (IHRC) is a community based nonprofit organization (501c3) that provides compassion-based services for and advocates with people who use drugs.

The Mission of the Domestic Violence Intervention Program is to provide comprehensive support and advocacy services to victim/survivors, focusing on immediate and long-term safety, empowerment, dignity, and hope. In collaboration with the community, we strive to end domestic abuse through education, accountability, and social justice.

Shelter House operates a 70-bed emergency shelter in addition to four homes and a housing-first complex through which 47 permanent supportive housing units are provided. At Shelter House, they focus on offering programs and support services including housing, employment, and mental health recovery that help hundreds of men, women, and children each year to get back on their feet.

Corridor Community Action Network serves to facilitate resident participation and empowerment, raising awareness about opportunities to improve the quality of life for all individuals in the Iowa Corridor.

The Prairielands Freedom Fund (formerly Eastern Iowa Community Bond Project) pays immigration bond and pretrial bail to free people from detention. They are committed to acting in solidarity with all movements working to abolish the imprisonment of our fellow human beings.

IFR is an anti-racist activist group leading protests to advocate for systemic change. Follow them on instagram to keep up with events and ways to contribute/get involved.

PUBLIC SPACE ONE (PS1) is an artist-led, community-driven, contemporary art center. It houses the IC Press Co-op, Media Arts Co-op, and The Center for Afrofuturist Studies’

RVAP is a sexual assault victim advocate and prevention education agency that also hosts the Iowa Sexual Abuse Hotline. They serve anyone impacted by sexual violence -- survivors and/or their loved ones in the following eastern Iowa counties: Cedar, Des Moines, Henry, Iowa, Johnson, Lee, Washington,Van Buren. This includes but is not limited to individuals of any age, gender, identity, culture, etc.
